Hello Everyone!

I help people lose weight, tone up, and get fit, mainly in the Barnet and surrounding area.
I'm a mobile personal trainer and weight management coach.

I offer 1:1 sessions in people's houses, or on a sunny day, take them out to the local park.

On top of that, I also organise 8 week weight loss courses via GP surgeries.

I'm always happy to be introduced to people who hate the gym, have tried all diets on earth and want to lose weight the fun way.
As well as introductions to GPs in North London.

My motto is that a diet is a lifestyle and exercise should be fun, not a punishment.

My website is http://www.barnetpersonaltrainer.co.uk
I am also on twitter: Barnettrainer

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Best Regards,

Anne

Hi Anne,

Glad to find a fellow weight management coach on here, pleased to meet you. Love your Motto!

I am currently studying diet and nutrition, I found Herbalife 18 months ago and after using their core nutrition products found that a skin complaint I'd suffered from for years on my hands was the best it had ever been, my diet is definitely my lifestyle now and I love and trust the products. I don't have a background in fitness although I do work out and I'm a black belt in karate, that is my passion when it comes to fitness and its an education as well keeping me in shape.
I'm now building my Herbalife business on a part-time basis around my family and other commitments. Its a great feeling helping someone understand their body and teaching them how they can achieve a healthier lifestyle and I can support them online, 1-1 or in a group.
Have you come across Herbalife or promote a particular nutritional supplement?
I'm always open to advice from fitness professionals as we get trained on the science behind our products but with the new range Herbalife24 designed for Athletes, a nutritional range to support their daily routine, I like to also be improve my knowledge in fitness.
Look forward to getting to know more about you :)
Regards
Gillian

Thanks everyone for welcoming me.

@Gillian, I'm glad to hear that you're currently studying diet and nutrition.
Most of the Herbalife and other "nutrition" people I've met, have never learned anything properly about diet and nutrition.
Yes, I've come across Herbalife and other products.
As much as I do believe that someone who trains really hard, needs supplements, and probably some addition to their diet, I do not believe that normal people should take any without first totally reviewing their diet and start eating properly for a few months.

People do have shortcomings in vitamins and minerals, which is definitely provided in products like Herbalife. However, the reason they have it, is because their diet is bad in the first place.
I do not believe that drinking a shake for the rest of your life is the solution.

People need to learn to eat proper food in a healthy way. Listen to their bodies signs of hunger for when and how much to eat. And adopt healthy habits around food.

That's my view about nutrition anyway. And in no way am I saying that Herbalife or other products are bad. I just think that they fill a gap for people who are lazy about learning healthy habits.
But I know it can work very well, as I know people who are earning a very decent living from it.

But the fact that you're learning about nutrition is fabulous. As I said, most distributors I've met just push their products without properly understanding anything about diet, nutrition, illnesses people have, etc.

And always happy to be in touch and answer any questions you might have regarding exercise (and nutrition).

Best Regards,

Anne

Hi Anne,

Thank you for your opinion, I always like to take on board peoples views, whether they believe or not in meal replacements and try to get a better understanding of why.
I think everyone approaches the ' liquid lunch' idea with a lot of scepticism, I had similar views myself until I researched the company and the products a little more, I was very healthy and fit before I used Herbalife, training in karate 2 or 3 times a week, keeping fit with my children, cycling etc..the obvious difference for me when I started on the core nutrition programme was the increased energy levels, no sluggish feelings and in terms of how satisfied I was with my hunger throughout the day I was amazed, along with the improvement to my skin I wanted to learn more. I soon began to trust the products and although yes they are very convenient and may be looked upon as a lazy approach I would say it had the opposite effect on me and I now commit more time to preparing meals whether it be my 'normal' meals or my shake, which I experiment with, have in many different forms whether on its own or to compliment another healthy food source.

Sorry to hear you have crossed paths with a few distributors who haven't known as much as you thought they should in nutrition, in the wider sense of the word. It is very easy to become a distributor and I guess the commitment to the cause is up to the individual but in our defence the majority are generally very eager to learn all aspects of nutrition to support their service as a coach and you find that successful distributors all have a background in either personal training, fitness industry, nutrition, health services etc...or if they are a customer with no qualifications in the field and wish to pursue the opportunity like I was, then it crucial they are willing to learn. The meetings and training events available to us and the tools and literature provided is phenomenal so there is no excuse. ;)

I've been lucky enough to join the company into a smaller group who provide us with great training, we all take our roles very seriously and endeavor to know our stuff, products or otherwise. Herbalife put trust in us to support the brands name and products and we respect that.

$5 billion company, cellular and molecular laboratories, seed to feed, products formulated by some of the worlds top professors and doctors in their field, many of which I have met at training events, obesity, sports nutrition, heart health etc..we even have a nobel laureate. The science behind the products is second to none. The sponsorships in sport now are huge and with Leo Messi 3 time winner of the best footballer in the world not simply endorsing the products but using the them too.

I also spend time as well as broadening my knowledge and building my customer base on sponsoring others, who may or may not have a background in nutrition, ultimately I sponsor people that have the potential and the focus and will not take on the the role of a wellness coach lightly. Admittedly the marketing plan is there to help distributors grow a team and I'm sure you'll see me post regularly on any free regional events anyone may wish to attend to see the opportunity and sample the products, and that can increase their earnings but anyone doing that for money only will likely fall by the wayside. I follow the morals of my sponsor who spent years building her customer base, helping people improve their lifestyles, gaining experience in all aspects of nutrition and then built a team and taught us to look after our clients as she did and that is my catalyst. I am ultimately helping people help other people as between us we have more time to help more people.

I hope I've given you a little more info about Herbalife and its distributors that may change your perspective a little to what you have perceived in the past.

Thank You for your offer of help and advice with any fitness issues I may have, I have just been on this site a couple of days but for the first time with a site like this I feel a great sense of community spirit. Feel free to make me read just as much about your fitness coaching as I have about Herbalife lol :)
Regards
Gillian

Hi Gillian,

As I said, I'm glad you are taking it seriously and learning about nutrition in depth, and not just pushing the product to make money and build a business without really understanding what it does to someone who takes the products.
Unfortunately I have come across many who don't. And that's not just Herbalife, it's with all the different products out there, which is why I am keeping away from them.

Best Regards,

Anne

No worries Anne, I appreciate your honesty.
Many people discover Herbalife from either a product result referral or a recruitment opportunity, luckily I was introduced to them for my health and having suffered a skin condition for years the products have made a real difference. All I can say is I hope maybe one day you may feel differently about the company that so many people do feel passionately about.
Take Care :)

Gillian
