Does anyone use Press Releases in your business ?

If not, then you should think about it as a Press Release can provide you excellent unique content which will improve your SEO. Most press release websites get hourly visits from the SE Bots, especially Google. Its suprising how fast your news will travel

Once you have created your masterpiece, a good 'free' press release site is The Open Press - http://www.theopenpress.com/

There are a few more 'free' press release sites around, so have a quick search in Google and see what you find.

We would defeinitely like to reinforce this point - PR is pretty much the most effective way to get your word about business out into the public eye without spending anything. Plus as Paul has said, placing it on sites that are regularly crawled by search engines is a fast and effective way to get it listed. (The Business Circuit is constantly being crawled by all the major search engines - in fact we call Googlebot on every single page update).

If you are not sure how to wirte a press release, a good starting point is provided here: http://www.publicity...com/release.asp

We have used a press release on several occasions.

We have used http://fiverr.com/ to get the press release written and we have had some well written ones. Fiverr.com is basically a site where people offer their services for 5 dollars, you can still choose who you use to write it and if you are not happy, you have only spent a couple of pounds.

Nice and handy to know. I think its always difficult writing in 'Press Release Style' about your own business, but I think I may give this a try - Will save some time if nothing else..

A press release is a communication directed at members of the press in order to tell them about something newsworthy. Generally you would write an article about something your business is doing or taking part in that the media would be interested in publishing.

Getting an article published in the press about your business is arguably one of the best forms of marketing you can ever hope to get, plus it’s free.
