The majority of businesses now rely on software of some kind, whether it be MS Excel, MS Word, Sage or any other.

What software packages do you rely on to run your business?

Personally, I think that the most important software for your business should be decent anti virus, Anti-malware or anti spyware.

We dont want any virus's, someone hacking in to your network and looking at your accounts etc - or even worse, nicking your data or sending rogue email's from your email account ruining the reputation you have spent so hard building..

For those also that are just starting out and cant afford any of the MS software, (Word, Excell, Access Etc) have a look at Open Office. This is shareware and enables you to open MS forms etc

As an IT company all software is important to us! Though I must say one of the most important ones is our CRM, without this we wouldn't have accurate records of our customers/contacts and everyone in the team knows what's going on as it's on the network.

Another very important suggestion. Which CRM software do you use?

Matt, didn't want to blatently advertise in previous post, but we use ConvallisCRM - this is software that we have developed in-house and is available for general purchase. The advantage of developing it ourselves for our customers is that if it doesn't quite work for them we can add custom development to make it just right. We have a website: http://www.convalliscrm.co.uk specifically for it. (Some minor changes may be noticed shortly!)
