As business owners and entrepreneurs yourselves, what do you feel are the most important qualities one must show to be successful?

One of the first that comes to mind for me would be perseverance.

Self motivation

You no longer have a boss to order you around you are now the boss. You have to be able to motivate yourself to plan your business, raise the finance, search for your customer and plan and manage.

I believe self motivation is key to whether you have a successful business or not.

Having confidence in your idea and your ability to make it work is also critical in my opinion.

Knowing your market
Passion

Without these developed tools and belief that your ideas work you an't going to get anywhere. If you don't organise yourself then how can you organise a business! Passion and excitement is what gets you up in the morning as without a set job the responsibility lies with you and only you.

Hope we have lots of passionate, excited, well focused and skilled people out there to make a big impact. It's thought that 50% of households in the UK in 3 years time will be doing their own businesses due to the lack of growth in the traditional employment markets, this is exciting times for hard working people with drive.

I think it goes to show that there are a number of different attributes that all go hand in hand with being a great startup entrepreneur.

All the above are important, but I really believe that having a passion and a strong belief in what you are trying to achieve is crucial. I think that if have these then a lot of the other things will come naturally.
