Matt I agree, you definitely need a good profile picture. I am more likely to engage with someone online if there is a profile photo/image there rather than the default one. It doesn't take long to set up and to me I feel like I trust someone more online if I can put a face/image to a name.

I cant emphasise enough the importance of a great headshot or profile picture. In today's visual world images convey instant information. How do you want viewers to see you, is it friendly, warm, happy, confident, serious or any other number of instantly transmitted emotions? As a photographer specialising in headshots for busness and the arts I would advise everyone to think carefully about the images they use on websites, promotional material and social networking sites. Remember you only get one chance to make a good first impression.
