This is the 1st Manchester Marathon for 10 years and it is expected that over 5000 people will run 26.2 miles around Trafford, Greater Manchester.
Now I run various 5K's, 10K's and Half Marathons throughout the year, but these are for my own times and I do not run for any charities - If I did, then everytime, my family or mates met me, then they would think I would be asking for Sponsorship.
However, with a Marathon, I consider this to be a little different - 26.2 miles of running and I am expecting (hoping) to come in at around 4 hours, 30 mins - Not megga fast, and not breaking any records, but either way, I will be finishing.
Training is well underway - 7.5 miles completed today in 1hr 27 mins, with the coming week of 4 mile run on Tues, Thurs and finishing with a 10 mile on Sunday
I am running Manchester Marathon for Adoption UK, PDSA and Diabetes UK - All charities that are very close to my heart, especially adoption UK.
Now I am offering sponsorship opportunities on my running kit (Tshirt front and back and shorts) for any business's that are interested - All sponsorship obtained will go to the charities as I will pay for the printing etc as another part of my contribution.
We are expecting huge crowds to turn out for the event as 000's turn out for the Manchester 10K every year.
