My website Business Accounting Basics is doing well in Google search terms, but has a Google page ranking of 0.

Does anyone know what I need to do to improve the Google rank and is it important?

Thanks

I dont think its as important as it used to be, if I am been honest.

You used to be able to improve your pagerank by the number if back links etc on your site or other linking methods. Pagerank was basically how useful, Google thought your website was.

I keep an eye on alot of domains which are for sale and more often than not, the pagerank is displayed - but as some sites tell you, they also advise the suspected false pagerank.

I wouldnt worry to much about your pagerank, but would concentrate on fresh, interesting, relevent & content on your site.

I would tend to agree. I think that so long as you are performing well in search results for your chosen keywords, the google page rank is pretty meaningless.

Also its worth bearing in mind that that google only updates page ranks every few months, so if your site is reasonably new it may not have been given one yet...

Thanks for the great replies.

It is not something that I am really worried about, but was more curious to know. The site is now about 4 years old and I am concentrating on getting fresh content and links all the time. Hopefully this will help and increase traffic.

How long has your site been up? Google Page Rank is only updated every 6 months or so and as such your site may not have gained enough authority to have warranted PR.

Work on your back link profile and content strategy and it will surely come.
