One of the discussions on this forums has been about SEO and would you do you own. I thought it might be worth making a list of the SEO tools that you find useful, either free or paid.
Here are some of the tools that I use:
Google keyword - a great tool for finding new keywords and looking at the competition and number of searches.
Google Webmaster - Checking website, submitting sitemap to Google.
Webconfs - Keyword Density checker - When I first started doing my own sites I found that some of my pages did not represent the keywords I was aiming at. This tool shows which words are used the most on a page.
Most recently as recommend by someone on these forums Traffic Travis - A great site to check performance in the search engines, finding keywords, looking at your competition and checking your SEO.
Please add your recommendations and hopefully we can get a really useful list.

Another great tool to use is Google Analytics.
Although not strictly an SEO tool, it is an excellent way to measure the results of your SEO efforts. It allows you to see exactly where your traffic is coming from, how much you are getting, and how your site's performance is changing over time.
