I recently had the displeasure of finding that someone had copied aload of content from one of my old shopping site. not only did they copy the content, but the page layouts and some of the images :x

Although I was told I should be flattered ....

A couple problems with this is its possible that the mimick site can be nicking your traffic, but more importantly the it is believed that this can affect your positioning in Google. Looking into this, this can be true, however Google do tend to look at the domain age and then 'downgrade' the newest domain.

But, do you really want to take that chance and ruin all your SEO hardwork ?

Whilst spending some time on this, I found this nice little site http://www.copyscape.com/

Enter your domain, and this will analyse the text on your website and give you the domains of other websites using the same of very similar text

Has anyone else had a problem with duplicate website text ? How did you deal with this ?
